Cookery, a Toronto and Montreal-based cookware store and cooking class studio is among the latest to express support for the people of Ukraine. Founder and West Island native Alison opened her first location in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighborhood in August 2014. Now nearly a decade later, the Cookery enterprise is made up of four incredible locations including Westmount in Montreal.
As the war in Ukraine rages on, companies, businesses, and governments across the globe have rallied together in unanimous support for the people of Ukraine. If you are passionate about food and love spending time in the kitchen, consider Cookery's upcoming online cooking class benefiting the Ukraine war effort.
"Join us for an evening of traditional Ukrainian food with an online cooking class fundraiser with Chef Sasha Gaponovitch. On the menu is Chicken Kiev; a fresh salad of Spring radishes, cucumbers, tomato and dill and Deruny (potato pancakes). Biskvit, a light & fluffy apple sponge cake, will be served for dessert."
100% of the proceeds of the class will be donated to the Ukraine war effort and the local Ukrainian community.
The course also includes wine pairings provided by wine enthusiast and educator, Amy McIntyre. In this real-time class hosted on Zoom, you will prep and cook a meal along with the Cookery team while enjoying a glass of wine or two from Amy's pairings selected from the LCBO. (SAQ selections coming soon!)
EARLY BIRD DRAW: Register by March 18th and be entered to win FREE WINE PAIRINGS. The winner will receive 2 of Amy's wine selections for the menu. Not only will you be entered, but the Federal government is matching all our donations made to the Red Cross by this date. ALL participants will be entered to win one of several amazing prizes!
"So grab your ingredients and our wine pairings (posted here), and cook along with us for a good cause."
