On Thursday, February 15th, just before noon, violence broke out at a residential building along Émile Bouchard Street near the Centre Multisports in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

44-year-old Fabio Puglisi has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault. He is alleged to have fatally stabbed his mother, Élisabetta Puglisi-Caucci, 68, and his neighbor, Manon Blanchard, 53. A third victim, who lives in the same building, was taken to hospital with stab wounds and is in stable condition.

There was a heavy police presence on Émile Bouchard Street Thursday following the stabbings in a nearby residential building which claimed two lives.
Puglisi has had several run-ins with the law and has been previously charged with alleged fraud and assault causing bodily harm. In both cases, he was declared not criminally responsible due to a schizoaffective disorder.
He will undergo a judge-ordered psychiatric evaluation to see if he is fit to stand trial.
