This popular Netflix holiday rom-com has West Island ties!

Netflix launched its inaugural LGBTQ+ holiday romance comedy in 2021. The fan-favourite holiday film resurfaces around this time every year, and its scenic small-town scenes were shot in Pointe-Claire!

Entitled Single All the Way, it follows two close friends, Nick (Philemon Chambers) and Peter (Michael Urie), as they spend Christmas with Peter's family; Jennifer Coolidge plays an endearing yet zany Aunt Sandy! There's a catch, though: Peter persuades Nick to pose as his lover to get his family to stop bugging him about not settling down with anyone.

The Pointe-Claire area served as the primary filming location for the Netflix original. The popular filming site was also the backdrop for scenes from the newly released Disney Plus' "The Naughty Nine" and the Home Alone spinoff, Home Sweet Home Alone. The production shot some scenes at the Beaconsfield Golf Club as well.

The West Island is no stranger to providing filming sites for large movie production companies. "The Whole Nine Yards" (2000), starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, was filmed partly in Pointe-Claire and Dorval, and "The Score" (2001), with Robert De Niro, Edward Norton, and Marlon Brando, includes scenes shot at the Montreal-Trudeau Airport. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) shot exterior scenes in Vaudreuil-Dorion, as did "Brooklyn," the 2015 romantic drama that starred Saoirse Ronan.
