Environment Canada woke up Montrealers with a "special" weather statement, and it's surely been living up to the name.
According to Environment Canada, "a major weather system from the US East Coast will bring between 10 to 15 centimeters of snow across the Greater Montreal area and the Laurentians today."
The report warns that temperatures will stay at or near the freezing mark causing heavy, wet snow which could result in power outages in the region.
The report also warned that visibility during peak rush hours will be limited and that roads could become slick very quickly.
In true West Island fashion, citizens have taken to the Internet to express their discontent through comedic relief. What's life without a laugh, right?
West Island News' very own Nader Barsoum was quick to jump into the holiday spirit...
One West Island mechanic took to the community page to offer up tire changing services...
Another resident took ownership of the unfortunate weather. Many West Islanders felt personally attacked for the choices they made this past weekend to prepare for Spring and Summer.
And our personal favorite... this Pincourt resident woke up convinced they slept through Summer and woke up in an alternate universe.
If the last two years have taught us anything, it's that a little laughter can go a long way. April showers are evidently a thing of the past and we may need to implement a new nursery rhyme.
April snow, HO HO HO?
