The West Island is gearing up for Halloween: Here's what's happening!

Spooky season is upon us, and your nearest municipalities are hosting events to get the whole family in on Halloween-themed fun. This is your one-stop shop for the West Island's October festivities.


Baie-D'Urfé

  • WHAT? SPOOKY HALLOWEEN TRAIL. Young and old alike are invited to dress up in their best costumes and head to the Spooky Halloween Trail to enjoy the decorations and take some great photos with their loved ones. This is an event not to be missed! Many surprises await you. First come, first served.

  • WHEN? On Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

  • WHERE? The City of Baie-D'Urfé invites you to its Spooky Halloween Trail located between the Baie-D'Urfé Library and the Fritz Community Centre.

Beaconsfield

Welcome to Booconsfield! This fall, Beaconsfield has organized a full lineup of events for young and old, with conferences and activities covering topics like music, cooking, Halloween, and much more!

  • WHAT? DISCOVER THE GROWLERS CHOIR: Composed entirely of metal singers, known as "growlers", Growlers Choir, as seen on America's Got Talent, mixes metal and experimental music in a unique and revolutionary way. For ages 10+, bilingual.

  • WHAT? HALLOWEEN FREE-SKATE. Bring your skates and helmet (for children aged 12 and under) and enjoy our arenas regardless of your skating level. A surprise will be given to every participating child. Admission fee*: $1 with costume, $2 without costume *Everyone must pay the fee upon entering the site. The Pro shop will be open during the event for skate sharpening ($10) and skate rentals ($5).

Dorval

Here is the 2022 Halloween programming offered by the City of Dorval.


Some activites require registration by phone or in-person at the Dorval library when specified. Citizens who wish to take part in a leisure and culture activity offered by the City must first obtain a citizen card or a non-resident card at one of the four following service points:

  1. Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre (SDCC - 1335 Lakeshore Drive)

  2. Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre (SACC - 1945 Parkfield Avenue)

  3. Dorval Library (1401 Lakeshore Drive)

  4. Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex (1295 Dawson Avenue)

It is mandatory for residents and non-residents to obtain this card in person at one of the four service points prior to their registration for all city courses and activities, whether it be online or in person.

  • WHAT? HORROR MAKEUP WORKSHOP, A free bilingual workshop, presented by Milgram; For ages 10 to 15. Meet the masters of horror from the Milgram team with years of experience designing super realistic horror effects. Slashes, burns, rotting flesh – not for the faint of heart! Learn about what they do and how they do it, then get a chance to create your own guaranteed gruesome makeup special effects!

  • WHAT? HALLOWEEN WEEKEND AT THE DASC; From October 28 to 30, the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex will be decorated with a Halloween theme. All children age 12 and under who come for either swimming lessons, recreational swimming or the open activities in the gymnasium will receive a loot bag and can enter their name in a draw for a special jar of candies. The winner will be picked on Monday, October 31. Back by popular demand, the Wibit obstacle course and other inflatable items will be available during recreational swimming, on Saturday, October 29, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular admission fee will apply.

  • WHAT? THE HORROR TRAIL — EGO PORTA MUNDI: ASYLUM 1680

  • WHEN? Saturday, October 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The free event is open to those age 11 and over. However, it is strongly recommended for age 13 and older. To the delight of fear and thrill seekers, the immersive horror trail is back this year! It is in the frightening and gloomy setting of an abandoned hospital that the most morbid and terrifying creatures await you. They will make you jump, shiver, and will give you cold sweats. Will you dare to enter the horror trail and face your greatest fears? At your own risk…Make the thrill last and prolong your Halloween evening! Following your journey through the horror trail, head to the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre to visit the Pumpkins and Other Curiosities exhibition and meet the spooky witches of Dorval. They will be waiting for you with treats and surprises.

Kirkland

PUMPKIN CONTEST: Carve, sculpt and decorate your pumpkin and bring it to the Library on Friday, October 28 before 9 p.m. Pumpkins submitted prior to this date will not be accepted.

Prizes will be awarded on Saturday, October 29 at 2 p.m. in five different age categories :

  • 5 years and under

  • 6-8 year olds

  • 9-12 year olds

  • 13-15 year olds

  • 16+ year olds (including adults)

On the menu: recipes from witches, giant pumpkins and young girls who appear in gourd gardens! Tales that will make you laugh and shiver!

L'Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève

Here is the program of various activities to celebrate Halloween at the Île-Bizard Library. It is mandatory to register on Loisirs Montréal to participate in these activities and places are limited.


WHAT? A HALLOWEEN SHOW: A FUNNY SPELL FOR DUSTY THE WITCH.

Dusty, the witch, is an artist! She likes to transform and recover objects by giving them a second life. Unfortunately, she has been put under a bad spell! Brin d'Acier the wizard hopes to make her think... But why? She will call upon her friends Mélasse the witch, Philomène the spider and even the children to become a witch again. Will she succeed?*

The show is for children from 3 to 7 years old.

Pierrefonds-Roxboro: Trick or treating, a haunted woods, a teens-only night, and a spooky movie screening!

  • WHAT? Trick or Treating at Borough Hall, The public is invited to dress up and take a stroll around the Borough Hall where they will encounter strange creatures while feasting on sweet treats! In addition, kiosks from local organizations and a street truck offering BeaverTails pastries will be set up in the waiting area. Haunted Woods Tour in Parc du Millénaire: Visitors will be invited to walk through the newly redesigned Parc du Millénaire woodland. The trail will lead them to the magnificent Pierrefonds Cultural Centre, which will be completely transformed for the occasion into a magnificent haunted house. This will be an opportunity to rediscover the cachet of this heritage building. Caution! May not be suitable for young audiences. Many scary moments are to be expected. That's why this event is for ages 6 and up.

  • WHAT? TEEN NIGHT; 13-17 years. During this evening, the library is reserved for teenagers! Dress up and have a chance to win the best costume prize! Everything is free: admission, popcorn, video games, foosball, just dance, etc. Various door prizes!

Pointe-Claire Because Halloween should be celebrated with nothing less than costumes and a bloodcurdling movie. Must be a resident of the City and have a MULTI card. Registration is required for some activities via LUDIK, unless otherwise specified.


  • WHAT? COSPLAY CLUB; Teens are invited to come with their costume ideas. Materials will be available on site to complete their cosplay. Ages 12 to 17.

  • WHAT? SCARY MOVIE NIGHT; It would not be Halloween without a scary movie! The most courageous can enjoy popcorn and candy like in the cinema. Thrills guaranteed! Ages 13+.

  • WHAT? HALLOWEEN SHOW: "Les malheurs de Grichette" 2 to 7 years old. With La petite valise Théâtre.Poor witch Grichette has lost her cat Fripouille! To make matters worse, she also seems to have lost her Big Book of Secret Recipes! With the help of the children, Vadrouille, the friendly garden scarecrow, will go to the land of witches... Will they be able to overcome the evil trials together?
