The SPVM dismantles a network of traffickers in the West Island

According to a SPVM press release, the West Island was very much included in a raid that was carried out last week. The apprehended suspects all appeared at the Montreal courthouse last Friday. Searches were carried out in several cities and boroughs on the West Island of Montreal, including Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Sainte-Geneviève, Pierrefonds and

Dollard des Ormeaux. Others also took place in downtown Montreal and Quebec City.


A total of four firearms were seized. Other types of weapons, more than $200,000 of various narcotics, such as cocaine, crack, Xanax, Dilaudid, isotonitazene, Viagra, speed, hashish, cannabis and mushrooms hallucinogens were also confiscated. The entire confiscation was worth $200,000. In addition, the investigation resulted in the seizure of $100,000 in cash.


The SPVM acted in collaboration with the Quebec City Police Service and benefited from the support of the National Organized Crime Squad (ENRCO), according to the press release.
