Pop-up exhibitions showcase local artists

YES, or Youth Employment Services Montréal is a charitable non-profit that provides English-language resources, tools, and strategies to improve employment and entrepreneurship opportunities across Quebec.

They will be hosting a series of pop-up art exhibitions and live music events in Montreal. After a difficult period of pandemic-related restrictions for creative entrepreneurs, select local artists are excited to showcase their work! Pop-up art exhibits will be held at a variety of venues over the next month and a half, including:

  • Sunday, August 7, 2022, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Cardinal Brewing, 466 Rue Main, Hudson (QC)

  • Saturday, August 27, 2022, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Church of the Epiphany, Verdun, 4322 Wellington St, Verdun (QC)

  • Sunday, September 11, 2022, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Centre St Jax, 1439 Saint-Catherine St W, Montreal (QC)

  • Saturday, September 17, 2022, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Riverside St-Henri, 5020 St Ambroise St, Montreal (QC)

These events are free and open to the public. Each pop-up exhibit will be unique, featuring a diverse mix of artwork and performances selected by a jury of leading Quebec artists. In addition, artwork and prints will be available for sale on-site, with all proceeds going to the artists.

The events were created not only to give a platform to some of the province’s leading emerging artists but also to coach the talents so they can better make a living doing what they love. The participating creatives, selected by a jury of local leaders in the arts and business community, received training in critical business skills like marketing and sales prior to the events.

In order to continue the opportunity to exhibit beyond the event, a virtual gallery highlighting the artists and their work can be found here. Above is Mirella Bacco's work Still Life. Bacco is one of the featured artists who will be on display at Hudson's Cardinal Brewing on August 7th.
