A commercial establishment in Pierrefonds was the target of an arson attack early Monday morning. The second fire in this area in as many weeks. The damage caused by the fire is not significant and there were no injuries, according to what reports the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) (source Canadian Press)
Around midnight, a citizen alerted police officers on patrol from the SPVM that he had just seen flames inside the establishment located on boulevard Saint-Charles, near the intersection of boulevard Pierrefonds. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that the front window had been smashed and the fire raged inside. They called the firefighters of the Montreal Fire Department (SSIM).
They arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. While inspecting the establishment's interior, they found an incendiary object which they forwarded to the SPVM arson squad for investigation. At the time of publication, no arrests had been made .
