Miracle Montreal wants to bring all Montrealers together to help feed the growing number of people facing food insecurity with the MARCH 13TH MIRACLE food drive!
On March 13, at 10:00 am, they are inviting every single resident on the island of Montreal and surrounding areas to drop a non-perishable food item on their doorstep. Thousands of volunteers from the community will travel to collect these donations and redistribute them to those in need in your community.
How to participate?
Simply place a non-perishable food donation on your doorstep or in your apartment lobby by 10:00 am on Saturday, March 13th.
Volunteers will come by and collect it. You can also register your donation on the Miracle Montreal website to let volunteers know you are donating.
Here is a list of recommended non-perishable items you can donate:
Cereals, wheat, and its derivatives (rice, buckwheat, oats, millet, barley, quinoa, couscous, bulgur, etc.)
Pasta
Pasta sauces
Vegetable oils
Breakfast cereals, muesli, etc.
Flour Nuts and seeds Dried fruits
Nut butter
Coffee
Sugar
Legumes (beans, chickpeas, lentils, etc.)
Canned fish
Milk (Grand Pré milk, soy milk, almond milk)
Canned soup (preferably reduced in salt)
Infant formulas and baby products (baby food jars, powdered milk, diapers, hygiene products)
Healthy snacks
Hygiene products (sanitary napkins, toilet paper, toothpaste)
Donations will be collected by volunteers of the community and redistributed to the food banks, organizations, and people who need food. There will be no door-to-door solicitation. Miracle Montreal volunteers will simply collect donations on the doorstep.
