Miss Ferreira, the owner of Cafe Ferreira, took to Instagram for the second time this month to express her immense gratitude for the overwhelming support from Montréalers. This came after she posted an emotional video on the first night of the Formula One in Montreal, when her terrace was unexpectedly closed at 9 PM during full service.
Miss Ferreira, known for her usually non confrontational nature, explained that this incident was extraordinary and much bigger than just Peel Street. Sadly, her experience was not an isolated one that night. Several restaurants were also targeted with city inspections and closures at 9pm that night.
Despite the challenges, Miss Ferreira was happy to report that things are improving. By Monday or Tuesday, her terrace was back in full
operation, thanks to the city's and the fire department's efforts. The city of Montréal has promised permanent changes before Christmas to prevent such incidents in the future.
Encouraged by the support from Montréal, Miss Ferreira is hopeful for a better relationship with the city moving forward. She emphasized the importance of cherishing the restaurant industry in Montreal and feels motivated to continue her work, boosted by the community's backing.

It just goes to show how strong the bond is between local restaurants and their loyal customers. Even small things like the design of a restaurant check holder can play a role in making every guest feel special and appreciated. Keeping those details consistent, even during tough times, helps maintain a sense of normalcy and care. I hope Miss Ferreira’s terrace reopens soon, and that the support from the community continues to grow stronger!
