It's winter carnival season, and the West Island is going all out!

These next few weekends are made for enjoying the beauty of the season, and you're sure to find a carnival or winter-themed activity near you. Enjoy this list of the west's best carnivals to experience all the festivities.

Dollard-des-Ormeaux

WHAT? D.D.O's Grand Winter Carnival

Tons of free activities are planned, such as skating, maple taffy on snow, as well as an illuminated mini-putt game! Enjoy listening to some music while warming up by the bonfire.

Children, teens, and adults, come one, come all!

  • Taffy on snow

  • Skating and special lighting for the skating rink (skate loan size 6 and up. Limited quantities)

  • Tobogganing (until sundown)

  • Illuminated mini-putt

  • Heated igloo

  • Big bonfire

  • Food and drinks ($)

Dorval

WHAT? Dorval's Winter Festival

Tons of fun awaits you at Dorval's annual Festival, whether it's practicing a winter sport, partying at an illuminated evening, or attending a comedy night or a family quiz.

Kirkland

WHAT? Kirkland Winter Carnival's Family Day

On Saturday, January 28, Kirkland will launch their Winter Carnival festivities! Some planned activities include sleigh rides, maple taffy, face painting for kids, outdoor and indoor activities, and much more!

Outdoor activities

• Inflatable games and lots of fun activities!

• Sleigh rides

• Music and entertainment

• Outdoor skating

• Pony rides

• BBQ

• Maple taffy

Indoor activities

• Public skating from 2 to 3:30 pm
• Face painting and craft corner

L'Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève

WHAT? L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève's L'Hiver Bizard winter carnival will return on February 24th and 25th.


Here is an overview of the planned activities:
Skate Into the '80s (Patin 80); Relive the '80s and the fluorescent era during this fun evening of recreational skating! A special celebration will be held at 7 p.m. Join us as the park’s skating rink that will officially be named La patinoire du Coach Ken in honour of this long-time volunteer’s dedication to our community.

WHEN? New date: Friday, February 24th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

WHAT? Family Fun (Fun en famille)

Zack, the mascot, invites you to join him for a fun-filled family day! Enjoy numerous activities that will make you move and smile:
- Recreational skating with music as well as inflatable games
- Project PACE farm animals (alpaca, goats, and sheep),
- A variety of games, a performance by Les Soupis (illuminated puppets), and much more!
Hot chocolate will be offered for free throughout the festival!

WHEN? Saturday, February 25th, from noon to 4 p.m.



L'Île-Perrot

WHAT? L'Île-Perrot's Winter Pleasures, complete with inflatable and mechanical games, music, skating and sliding, a walking artist, a snow shoot, hot chocolate, and a Beaver Tails street food truck.


WHEN? Sunday, February 5 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.



Pincourt

WHAT? Winter Fest 2023; Come have fun and enjoy the pleasures of winter! All activities are free.

  • Animation,

  • Inflatable games,

  • Tubing,

  • Skating,

  • Mini-farm,

  • Sleigh ride,

  • Sumo Bubble ,

  • Winter equipment loans.

  • 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Visit from the Montreal Canadiens' mascot Youppi!

Sugar Shack ($), churros($), food stands ($), free hot beverages with your reusable mug or compostable cups ($) will be available on site. Free access to the cross-country ski trails from Skieurs de l'île.

Pointe-Claire

WHAT? Pointe-Claire Winter Fun.

Children and adults alike are expected in large numbers to enjoy inflatable games, face-painting workshops, or skating. This year, everyone will have the opportunity to express their creativity during the bird feeder-making workshop offered by the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre team. Bring your reusable cup; hot chocolate will be offered on-site. Snacks will be available for purchase at food stands, and a BBQ will be organized by the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (WIAIH) to support its activities.


WHEN? On Saturday, January 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.



Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue

WHAT? S.A.D.B Saturday night skating

Back this year for two nights this winter! Come skate and slide to the sound of music in a festive and illuminated decor! With family or friends, there will be music for all tastes.

Bring your skates and your best dance moves.

Program:

  • Free skate sharpening service available to residents (proof required)

  • Free coffee and hot chocolate

  • Beaver tails ($) (Saturday, February 11 only)

  • Loaner equipment available for skating (limited quantities)


WHEN? Saturday, February 11th, and Saturday, February 18th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.


WHERE? Parc Aumais (February 11th), and Parc Harpell (February 18th).

Saint-Lazare

WHAT? The Winter Caravan - A Winter Day

A multitude of free winter activities will be available for the whole family:

  • Snow sculptures

  • Soccer on snow (hosted by the SLH soccer club)

  • Dog sledding

  • Lumberjack demonstration: 1:15 to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:15 p.m.

  • Ice activities (hosted by the HRS Skating Club)

  • Snow scooter circuit

  • Hot Chocolate

WHEN? Saturday, February 4th, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m.



Vaudreuil-Dorion

WHAT? Animated Skate Night

The ice ring at Maison-Valois Park will be the scene of a party during an Animated Skate Night featuring a DJ. Citizens will be able to borrow skates for free by presenting their citizen card.


WHEN? Saturday, January 28th, from 6 to 9 p.m.



WHAT? Feux et Flocons.

An evening full of music accompanied by fireworks. The full lineup of events will be unveiled shortly.


WHEN? Saturday, February 25th at 7 p.m.
