The Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro is proud to present a full winter-spring cultural program for the enjoyment of all Montrealers!
Musical concerts, comedy shows, family outings, plays and much more. All events will take place at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre and Beaubois Theatre. It is happening for young and old alike! Not to mention that each show is presented free of charge*, to allow the general public to discover or reconnect with the carefully selected local cultural offerings.
"In these pandemic times, we want to offer a well-deserved respite to the citizens of our Borough."
-Dimitrios (Jim) Beis
"In my opinion, the cultural calendar we are proposing will serve as a balm that will certainly brighten up the daily life of our community. We are demonstrating our desire to offer cultural activities that will do us good and make a real difference in the lives of our fellow citizens," said Dimitrios (Jim) Beis, Mayor of the Borough of Pierrefonds Roxboro.
New: Presenting our first evening of comedy
Montreal Comedy Club, Théâtre Beaubois, February 26, 7:30 pm
The season kicks off with a bang on February 26 with an evening of comedy presented in collaboration with the Montreal Comedy Club. The show will feature comedians
Harrison Weinreb, Amer Rez and Wassim El-Mounzer. El-Mounzer, who by the way is from the West Island, opened for Sugar Sammy on a recent Canadian tour before the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018, he was voted Artist to Watch by the Gazette. In addition, he has been seen on the BBC and CBC's Laughter at the Lion d'Or.
Popular family outings
Les origines du Bing-Bang!, Théâtre Beaubois, March 4, 7pm
Given the enthusiasm shown by Pierrefonds-Roxboro families last fall for "Family Outings", the Borough is carrying on with the presentation of these events in 2022! The first show will take place on March 4 and is entitled Les Origines du Bing-Bang, a theatrical concert for young families. On stage, two percussionists create rhythmic formulas with unusual objects: balloons, rackets... and even trash cans!
Much anticipated return of our thematic shows
Very popular with the residents of our Borough, our thematic events will once again make their appearance at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre and the Beaubois Theatre. Audiences will have the opportunity to revisit the Cabaret Evenings with, among other things, a blues music show with the Durham County Poets.
The Sunday Classics will resume on Sunday, March 20, with a performance of Luce e Ombra, a concert of opera arias by Antonio Vivaldi. This show highlights the crystal-clear and captivating voice of the young soprano Myriam Leblanc.
Don't miss our Special Edition component, with Frank Sylvestre's Âme en exil, and Avec le rire de ma grand-mère, by Véronique Bachand and Hugo Blouin. Both offer the public very personal stories, all the while being accompanied by musicians on stage.
