In support of this year’s Hooked on School Days Campaign, the MNA for Jacques-Cartier, Mr. Greg Kelley, is delighted to recognize the outstanding efforts of the students in three local schools in his riding. In all, 17 students attending Félix-Leclerc, Saint-Georges and Macdonald High Schools were awarded certificates of recognition from their MNA.

Mr. Kelley feels it is more important than ever before to ensure that students who are going through a difficult time feel valued, and the goal of his project is to provide them with the encouragement they need to continue to persevere.

He would also like to thank the many dedicated people that are making a meaningful difference every day in the lives of students, at home, and school. Thank you to hard-working teachers and school staff, and to supportive family and friends who do their part to motivate students to succeed.

“As the MNA who launched the first ever Youth Council for the riding of Jacques-Cartier, the mental health of our future decision-makers is an often-discussed issue that is of critical importance to me. I hope that this tiny act of recognition will inspire the students to continue their hard work.”

- Greg Kelley, MNA for Jacques-Cartier and Official Opposition Critic responsible for Indigenous Affairs, Cybersecurity and Digital Technology

Hooked on school days” could suggest someone has a strong emotional attachment to their school years—those moments filled with laughter among friends, scolding from teachers, and even the stress of exams that somehow still brings a smile in hindsight. There's a chance that person still longs for those simpler times, wishing they could relive even a slice of that youthful energy and curiosity.

It’s possible that while taking an English language course in Urdu you might find yourself remembering those early school days when you first started learning the alphabet. Maybe, just maybe, this new journey brings back that same excitement to learn and grow again.
