On June 2, 2023, the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) arrested four suspects in connection with a series of break-ins in homes on the West Island and in areas north and south of Montreal. The suspects, aged 21, 30, 37, and 38, were apprehended following a break-in outside Montreal. During their arrest, $95,000 worth of jewelry was seized from their vehicle. Further investigation into one of the suspect's homes led to the seizure of additional jewelry worth over $100,000.
Montreal-area neighborhoods have experienced a significant increase in break-ins, specifically those targeting luxury homes. The SPVM investigation team utilized various techniques to identify this group of criminals, and the four individuals apprehended are believed to be part of a structured group of burglars. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the suspects are linked to other break-ins in different areas of Montreal.
Anyone with information about these break-ins or other related incidents is encouraged to call 911 or their local police station. Reports can also be submitted anonymously and confidentially to Info-Crime Montréal at 514 393-1133 or through the report form available on infocrimemontreal.ca.
