Festival de la Voix is back with world-renowned musicians.

The inception of Festival de la Voix was in 2012 by Kerry-Anne Kutz, a soprano, singer-songwriter, and voice instructor. She embarked on this endeavor alongside her friends and students, namely Sonia Castiglione and Sheila Faour-Warren, all coming together under the banner of the charitable organization Vox Aeterna. Kerry-Anne's vision was to offer her students and the broader community an avenue to encounter exceptional professional vocalists and instrumentalists through live performances. Additionally, Festival de la Voix aimed to provide educational opportunities by facilitating workshops and masterclasses led by these accomplished artists.

Eleven years later, the organization is hosting their annual fundraiser concert at St. Columba-by-the-Lake Church (11 Rodney, Pointe-Claire H9R 4L8) on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 3:00pm. Headlining the concert is renowned Canadian soprano Karina Gauvin who will sing her recognized Baroque repertoire, from Bach, Mahler, Britten and the music of the 20th and 21st centuries with equal success. She has graced the stage at theatres and festivals across the world, has 3 Grammy nominations and several Opus prizes.

Michael McMahon, who will serve as the pianist, brings a wealth of experience to the ensemble. He holds the position of Professor at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal, and he is also a resident artist at the prestigious Franz Schubert Institute in Austria. Beyond his role as a pianist, Michael is highly regarded as a vocal coach and masterclass lecturer. His impressive career includes collaborations with national TV networks and a well-deserved recognition in the form of Juno nominations and the esteemed Prix Opus award.
