Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have been reported as down as of around 11:40 a.m. eastern as reported by Down Detector.
Over 40,000 reports have been made to downdedector.ca that Facebook is down as of this morning, while around 30,000 reports have been made that Instagram is down.
It is unclear when these issues will be resolved.
