The 14th Annual Golf Tournament benefitting the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence was held on August 19, 2024, at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club. This year’s event raised a remarkable net proceeds of $600,000 dedicated to the Residence. Over the past fourteen years, this tournament has become a signature event and a vital fundraiser, contributing a total of $4.7 million. This substantial contribution allows the Residence to provide their patients with dignity, peace, and an enhanced quality of life during their final weeks. This year’s tournament also held special significance as it marked the 5th anniversary of the passing of Teresa Dellar, the Residence’s beloved co-founder.
“We are profoundly grateful for the unwavering commitment and heartfelt community support that continues to fuel our mission. It is with immense pride that we experience how our donors' generosity enables us to provide a sanctuary where our patients can spend their final stages of life in comfort and dignity, surrounded by their loved ones”, said Dale Weil, Executive Director of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence following the announcement of the results.
The Residence relies on community support and fundraising activities to raise $4.5 million each year. The community plays a crucial role in sustaining the financial resources that allow the Residence to provide its care and services to all our patients free of charge.
Major sponsors of the event included: The Tenaquip Foundation, The Gustav Levinschi Foundation, Mint Green Group, Bulletproof, Pfizer, The Oka & Grégoire Foundation, The Henri Family Foundation, Calko Group, Fednav, Redbourne Reality Management, TMX Group, Broccolini, OEC Group, TD Wealth and Sports Experts.
Local West Island leaders Francis Scarpaleggia, MP for Lac Saint-Louis, Brigitte Garceau, MNA Robert-Baldwin, Michel Gibson, Mayor of Kirkland, and Tim Thomas, Mayor of Pointe-Claire, supported the event.
MC for the evening was Andrew Carter - the voice of CJAD’s Morning Show and a close friend of the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
