With recreational activities becoming scarce in these times of pandemic, the City of Dorval is pleased to offer a variety of new outdoor activities to its citizens so they can get some fresh air and get moving while having fun!

This new winter programming is led by the opening of a cross-country ski trail and a multi-purpose trail at Golf Dorval starting January 22. The extensive grounds, open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will provide enthusiasts with two path options: a shorter 900-metre trail and a longer 3-km one.

Cross-country skiing aficionados can also venture out on newly groomed trails at Millennium Park and Dorval Park. Multi-purpose trails can also be used in these two green spaces.

Another new feature is found at the Peace Park Arboretum, where a magnificent ice trail is now available for skaters at all hours of the day. This new ice surface is one of many in Dorval, including the one at Pine Beach Park, which is also being introduced this year. With the three already existing outdoor skating rinks in Dorval, there will be no excuse not to get your skating on this winter!

The Arboretum will certainly be a destination of choice in the near future as citizens will find, in addition to the ice trail, a splendid pedestrian trail, approximately 2.5 km long (round trip). The path makes its way through Pine Beach Park, extends towards the Cultural Centre, crosses the Arboretum, and winds through the green spaces surrounding the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre.

Finally, a hill for sledding has been specially built behind Dorval Arena, offering, for the first time, two lanes for sliding and one lane to climb back up. This installation, in addition to the slope located behind the Westwood Sports Center, will allow both young and not-so-young to live an unforgettable experience during the weeks to come.

Of course, the quality of these installations depends on the weather conditions. For more details on all the outdoor activities (new or not) offered in Dorval, visit www.city.dorval.qc.ca.
