Discover West Island's Maple Delights: Top Destinations for a Sweet Adventure

Explore Quebec's Maple Destinations: A Sweet Adventure Awaits!

With the arrival of spring comes one of Quebec's most cherished traditions: maple season. As the snow begins to melt and the sap starts to flow, sugar shacks across the province open their doors to visitors eager to indulge in all things maple. Here's a roundup of some of the top maple destinations in Quebec, each offering its own unique experience:

  1. L'Érablière des Roy: For five generations, the Roy family has passionately operated this maple grove in Sainte-Marthe. While they don't offer dining services on-site, their presence at numerous markets and events throughout the year proudly represents the region with their maple products. If you're in the area or seeking quality maple products, a visit to their shop is well worth it!

  2. Le Petit Brûlé - Ferme écologique: At Le Petit Brûlé, an ecological farm, locally sourced and healthy food takes center stage. In addition to year-round greenhouse-grown vegetables, their online store offers meats, honey, ready-to-eat dishes, preserves, and, of course, maple products! With several pickup points and free delivery for orders over $50 before taxes in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region and surrounding cities, why not order your maple syrup and weekly meals together?

  3. L’Érablière et bleuetière biologique Au fin délice: If you're in search of organic maple products, you'll find everything you need here. From syrup to butter, sugar, caramel, and candies, all the essentials are available. While they don't offer dining services, you can purchase all their products on-site by appointment or online. In the summer, the maple grove transforms into a blueberry farm. Stop by for some pick-your-own blueberry fun!

  4. La Ferme Quinn: On Saturdays throughout March, La Ferme Quinn offers its "Maple Experience," where families are invited to take a guided tour to discover the maple syrup production process. The tour ends with a delicious maple taffy on snow! Afterward, enjoy access to the site to visit the farm animals, play in the playground, take a stroll through the fields, and stock up on local fresh products at the shop! Be sure to book your spots online in advance.

  5. La Sucrerie Lavigne: For 60 years, the Lavigne family has continuously expanded their establishment to accommodate a growing clientele. With a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere, La Sucrerie Lavigne is a must-visit in the region.

  6. La Sucrerie des Gallant: Built from trees felled during the 1998 ice storm, La Sucrerie des Gallant exudes a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Like the Auberge des Gallant, a member of the Ôrigine artisans hôteliers network, the sugar shack combines sophistication with casual charm. Thanks to the microclimate of the south side of Mont Rigaud, the Gallant family produces enough to offer maple syrup year-round!

With so many maple destinations to choose from, Quebec's maple season promises a delightful adventure for all who embark on it. Whether you're craving a traditional sugar shack experience or seeking organic maple products, these establishments have something sweet in store for everyone. So gather your family and friends and embark on a maple-filled journey through Quebec's charming countryside!
