A farm in St Lazare is allowing Montrealers to get out of the house and cozy up with some alpacas. Les Apagas de la Petite Côte is a small farm located at 1423 Chemin St Louis Saint-Lazare, J7T 2Y9 that sells alpaca products in their boutique as well as offering guided tours to hang out with some fuzzy animals.
You have the choice of three activities (guided tour, alpaca feeding & fire, snowshoe trail) which are booked in advance on their website: https://www.lesalpagasdelapetitecote.com.
The Guided Tour gives all guests the opportunity to have a 45 minute guided visit of the farm with a maximum group of 10 people. Each person gets a bucket of grains to feed and take photos with the alpacas. This tour costs $8 per person and is free for children under 2 years old.
The Alpaca Feeding and Fire Package offer its guests 30 minutes of feeding the alpacas followed by 30 minutes of sitting around a fire in the animal's home with marshmallows and hot chocolate. This package costs $18 per person for 5 and over, $15 per person for 2 to 4 years old, and free for children under 2. This package requires a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 10.
The Snowshow Trail contains a 1.3km walk around the farm to look at the alpacas. This does not include feeding or interacting with the alpacas. Snowshoes are not included in this activity. It costs $5 per car and a maximum of 4 cars at a time.
After spending some time with the alpacas visit their boutique to buy some high-quality alpaca products! The farm is open Mondays - 11:00-4:00, Thursdays - 11:00-4:00, Fridays- 10:00-4:00, Saturdays - 10:00-4:30, Sundays -10:00-4:30 and are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
