Clarity on where to go for your vaccine.

There have been many confusing claims on where you can go if you plan on getting your vaccine. Whether you are getting your first two doses or waiting to book your third, some of the info available online can be considered conflicting or confusing.

For those looking to get their 3rd dose, according to Santé Quebec, there is currently priority given for those who are medically vulnerable, such as people who are on dialysis, those with weakened immune systems.

Those individuals can receive their booster as early as 4 weeks after their second dose, though the booster is not recommended for children under 12 on dialysis or who have weakened immune systems.

For those who are not medically vulnerable, you may book an appointment 3 months or more after your last dose based on the following priority:

  • Residents in residential and long-term care centres (CHSLDs)

  • People living in private seniors’ residences (RPA)

  • People living in settings with a high percentage of vulnerable older adults such as intermediate and family-type resources (RI-RTF), as well as certain religious communities

  • Health and social services workers of all ages, including employees of social organizations in the health and social services sector, health workers in the private sector and other health workers (social economy companies providing home services, palliative care, etc.)

  • First responders and workers from public security (police services, fire services, emergency call centers, correctional services and civil protection)

  • Childcare and school staff (including elementary school, high school, Cégep, profesionnel, university, etc.)

  • Inspectors in the agriculture, fisheries and food sector as well as slaughterhouse staff

  • CNESST health and safety inspectors

  • Courthouse staff who cannot work from home as well as members of the judiciary

  • Residents of isolated or remote communities

  • Pregnant women of all ages

  • People age 60 and older

  • Caregivers

  • People age 18 to 59

As of January 6th, 2021, people ages 50-54 can go online to book their appointment.

Here is a list of when you will be able to go online to book your appointment based on your age group:
