The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Tim Thomas, and the members of the City Council invite citizens to celebrate Black History Month with a wide variety of cultural offerings.

On February 1st, 2007, an act to proclaim February Black History Month came into effect in Québec to mark the historic contribution of Black communities to Québec society and highlight this annual event.

Since 2021, Pointe-Claire has been committed to making this month an opportunity to celebrate the richness of its community by getting to better know the past and present players from Black communities, in particular through their prolific cultural achievements. All year long, Pointe-Claire's cultural programming will invite you to discover concerts and performances on this subject.

The City of Pointe-Claire takes great pride in highlighting Black History Month. The community is proud of its diversity and inclusiveness and would like to give all of its members an opportunity to shine.

Pointe-Claire invites each and every one of you to take advantage of the programming, featuring works by members of the Black communities. Discover an artist, writer, photographer or filmmaker, or actor, and learn more about their culture and history, where they came from, and how they have contributed to our society.
