Mr. Legault said that we will have to "accept a certain risk for a long time because we do not want to re-confine".

The number of hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 in Quebec rose from 55 to 167 in one month, Premier François Legault said at a press conference on Tuesday. This increase is explained in particular by the high contagiousness of the Delta variant, said Mr. Legault. The Prime Minister said a fully vaccinated person is 30 times less likely to be hospitalized if they contract the disease. As of Tuesday, 13% of Quebecers were still not inoculated, said Legault, calling on vaccinated Quebecers to try to "convince them with respect." Minister Dubé for his part indicated that all public and private health and social services stakeholders will have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as of October 15.
