The current Baie-D'Urfé Provigo will close on March 25th and will reopen 12 leeks later in mid-June as a Maxi. The supermarket, off of Morgan, was a Steinbergs when it first opened its doors in 1967. The store reopened as a Provigo after a fire destroyed the attached indoor mall in 1980.
George Weston Ltd., who owns Loblaws, Provigo, Maxi, and Pharmaprix, decided to convert 25 Provigo stores into Maxis this year. The Maxi will have a completely new layout and equipment. The existing fifty Provigo staff members have been offered temporary positions at other Maxis to become familiar with the chain's policies and procedures.
Franchise owner Francis Deroo was bought out as his franchise agreement was about to expire, and he declined a management position offer in the hopes of retiring. He has been the location's franchisee since 2013 and is popular within the community for the special senior shopping and discount programs offered at his Provigo.

Hi. Lowe's is one of my favorite stores. Since you can always find everything you need for the home, from building materials to household appliances. Reviews on the website https://lowes.pissedconsumer.com/review.html show that most of their customers are also satisfied with their products and services. Therefore, if you have not yet visited their store, I think you should do so. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
Totally agree with WIDH comment! 100%! What market research have they done?
Good luck to the Deroo family after many years of serving the Baie D'Urfe community! However, Loblaw's is making a MAJOR mistake by converting the Provigo to Maxi. Basically, the store will turn into a large bland "no name" depanneur without any personality just like SuperC. I give it 2 years before it closes. Loblaw's does not understand the upscale Baie D'Urfe community at all. The way to go is UP, not DOWN. A perfect example of what could be done is the Milano grocery store in Little Italy: vibrant, personal service and full of fresh foods of all kinds. Another local example is the Adonis grocery store in DDO, with a wide selection of fresh foods and take-out foods.…
