To mark the annual Holocaust commemoration of Yom HaShoah, B'nai Brith Canada held an event at Or Shalom synagogue in Dollard des Ormeaux.

Leaders from various communities were present as a sign of solidarity. City councilors Mike Brown of Kirkland, Morris Vesely of Dollard (also a B'nai Brith Canada national board member), and Sonny Moroz of Côte des Neiges, were in attendance, to name a few.

Other leaders present included Joan Lee of the West Island Black Community Association, Minda Mazzone of the Federation of Filipino Canadian Associations, and Hampstead Mayor Jeremy Levi.

B'nai Brith's League for Human Rights National Director Marvin Rotrand presided over the event and reminded those in attendance that the organization's annual audit on Antisemitism in Canada, which came out earlier in the week, revealed that hate is still a threat to not just the Jewish community, but all communities in Canada.

Over 100 names of those who were lost in the Holocaust were read out in a solemn display of emotion.
