ATHOS-MALE-STANDARD PARTI POODLE- 7 1/2 YEARS OLD
Athos has recently retired from his job as a breeding dog, and is looking for his first real home. He is really a people-dog, and will go along with anything his human wants to try. Whoever adopts him must realize that his coat requires regular grooming to prevent tangles and matts. They have to be prepared for the associated costs. Athos is a quick learner and it won't take him long to make himself an indispensable part of the family.
BITS-FEMALE-BOXER-2 YEARS OLD
Bits was another unclaimed stray. Behind that gruff face is a real people- lover. She's fussier about other dogs, and requires a proper introduction before making her decision on whether or not she wants to be friends. She would do better as your one and only. Obedience training is in order. Being strong and determined, she will show you exactly where she wants to go on walks. Fortunately, she also loves to please, so any problems she has should be fixed with positive reinforcement.
HABIBA-FEMALE-MIXED BREED (TUNISIA) 2 YEARS OLD
Habiba and her six pups recently arrived from Tunisia. It's a testament to her courage and maternal instincts that they all survived. She is now with one of our Foster Moms who is helping her learn to trust humans. Habiba is making great strides daily. She now gets up to greet her Foster Mom and enjoys outings with the pack. If the genie granted her three wishes, Habiba would live in a home with adults who have experience with shy, trauma-surviving dogs, older children who respect nervous dogs, and a calm, well-balanced canine sibling.
KIKI-MALE-CHINESE CRESTED-8 YEARS OLD
Kiki spent only a few months with his last human, and we know nothing about his history before that. He's staying with a Foster Mom and is making himself right at home. He enjoys meeting new people on his walks. Kiki will probably need a refresher in toilet training. Because of his age and size, he would do better in an adult home or one with older children. He tested positive for Lyme disease and will be on meds for a few weeks. After that, he should be fine.
SKIN CARE: His skin must be protected from the sun in summer and the cold in winter. He also requires washing and moisturizing.
