Like many things, the AMCAL Dragon Boat Challenge was forced to press the pause button for two seasons due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, restrictions have continued to lessen, and initiatives such as this one will be able to make a comeback this year.

On June 4th, 2022, paddlers of all levels will join together on the Lachine Canal in support of AMCAL Family Services; a West Island-based, non-profit, community organization that has aimed to serve create and foster healthy familial relationships for the past 40 years.

Through a collection of programs, AMCAL Family Services takes a holistic approach to its clients and a multidisciplinary approach to collaborating with professionals and community organizations to best address the issues its families identify and promote a continuum of care for families facing challenges.

Those wishing to participate in the AMCAL Dragon Boat Challenge do not need to have any prior paddling experience. The race is all in good fun, to support such a wonderful cause. Dragon Boat teams are comprised of 20 paddlers, and each team must raise $2000 in order to become eligible for the race.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 4th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at 5524 St-Patrick, Montreal.
