Accident on Highway 20: Teen Driver Causes Crash

Last night, a 17-year-old driver caused a dramatic crash on Highway 20 East near Beaconsfield. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the incident occurred around kilometer 44. The young driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle after performing dangerous maneuvers, causing the car to roll over multiple times before ending up in a ditch.

SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie explained that preliminary information suggests the driver's ability to operate the vehicle might have been impaired by alcohol. As a result, a blood sample will be taken to confirm whether the driver was under the influence. Thankfully, despite the severity of the crash, both occupants of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

A reconstruction specialist has been dispatched to the scene to analyze the details and determine the precise causes of the accident. Consequently, traffic in the area will be disrupted for a significant portion of the night as the investigation continues.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices. Please stay vigilant and drive safely to protect yourself and others on the road.
