As of December 10th, the City of Dorval invites you to visit the exhibition “L’âme de la Ville” by Sophie Roy, at the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre (1401 Chemin Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore).

This free exhibition explores the notions of movement, setting roots, and permanence by drawing from the imagery of the City of Montreal. Using her photomontage technique, Sophie combines different fragments of the world. She manipulates, superimposes, and juxtaposes various photographic elements of different natures and eras.

Sophie Roy is a visual artist living and working in Montreal. Her artistic practice focuses on alternative photographic techniques such as digital manipulation and mixed media processes involving image transfer and painting. Through her artwork, the artist explores themes of living beings, nature, and todayʼs society.

The artist will be on-site on Wednesday, December 15th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to discuss her work at the vernissage. This is an opportunity to meet her and talk about her technique of photomontage to highlight a vision of dynamic life made of changes, movements, and transformations.

For the Cultural Centre’s opening hours, visit www.city.dorval.qc.ca.

I’ve been a long time viewer of msnbc, but my recent experience with the network has been disappointing. The coverage felt more biased than usual, and some of the commentary was frustrating to watch. I reached out to customer service to express my concerns, but didn’t get a meaningful response. I’m considering exploring other news outlets for a more balanced perspective.
