$473,000 Allocated to Fencing off Rail in Saint-Lazare

The Minister of Transport and Québec Lieutenant, Pablo Rodriguez, and Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Peter Schiefke, have announced investments of $9.8 million for over 70 projects across Québec, through the Rail Safety Improvement Program. Saint-Lazare is one of the areas that will benefit from this funding, with a $472,679 project to fence off a section of rail in the Legault Road area.

This investment is part of the government's efforts to improve rail safety in the province, which is a top priority for the Minister of Transport and Québec Lieutenant, Pablo Rodriguez. The Rail Safety Improvement Program provides funding to support projects that enhance safety at grade crossings and along rail corridors. The project in Saint-Lazare will see the installation of fencing along a section of rail, which will help to prevent accidents and improve safety for pedestrians and motorists in the area.

The funding will also support other rail safety initiatives across Québec, such as the installation of warning systems and the construction of new pedestrian crossings. Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Peter Schiefke, highlighted the importance of this investment in improving rail safety in the region. "I am pleased to see this funding being allocated to support important rail safety projects in our community," he said. "This investment will help to make our roads and rail corridors safer for all users." The Rail Safety Improvement Program is part of the Government of Canada's commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring the safety of Canadians. With investments like these, the government is making important strides towards achieving these goals and building a safer, more sustainable future for all Canadians.
